MOXIE PICTURES is a film production company representing well known feature film directors such as Wes Anderson, Jim Sheridan, Cameron Crowe, Rob Marshall, as well as documentarian Errol Morris and others, for their commercial endeavors. The company has offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London. In the past five years Moxie has branched out into feature film, documentary, television, and branded content creation. The owner and CEO of Moxie Pictures, Robert Fernandez, was both Executive Producer and Co-Producer on critically acclaimed feature documentaries such as “The Fog Of War” (2004 Oscar Winner), “Some Kind of Monster”, “Standard Operating Procedure” and the soon to be released “Tabloid.” Dan Levinson, the owner and president of Moxie Pictures, has forged a company that develops and produces television shows, films, commercials, brand identities, advertising concepts, and digital content.

HENRY LU is a director with Moxie Pictures. “Run to the East” marks his first foray into long form narrative. Lu studied film at Ryerson in his native Toronto and directed short films set in Buenos Aires, Hong Kong and Tokyo that have played at film festivals including Sundance, Mill Valley, Sydney, Soho and the Worldwide Short film festival in Toronto. In a previous life he worked at Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Oregon. He lives in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

STEPHEN JESS is a senior editor at the Whitehouse Post in New York. His clients include Nike, MasterCard, Coca-Cola, United Airlines, Visa and AT&T.  He worked with Henry Lu on advertising projects over the past decade before partnering again on “Run to the East.” His previous film credits include Scott Hicks “GLASS: a portrait of Philip in twelve parts”. Stephen currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife and daughter.

JESSE GREEN is a cinematographer with the Skouras Agency. He has partnered with Henry Lu on many commercial film projects. His credits are compiled of commercials and music videos, along with additional photography on “The Missing” and “The Dilemma”. With a background in photography, Jesse sought out his career in the motion picture industry to further his creative vision. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife and two kids.

LORRAINE YURSHANSKY is a producer who works at Google’s creative lab in New York, New York. This documentary marks her first long form project.

CHRISTIAN BAKER works as an cameraman/editor at Moxie Pictures. He currently lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

RYAN HEFFERNAN is a freelance photographer who shoots for Outside, Budget Travel, and Runner’s World. He lives in San Francisco, California.

JOE SPRING is a writer and the online editor for Outside magazine. His New York Times story “Running from Despair” was the initial spark that started this project. He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
